| Jane Kise : Leveraging Polarities Polarities–those pesky issues where each “side” holds only part of the truth–are everywhere. Think of organizational struggles where the emphasis has swung too far in favor of teamwork at the expense of individual initiative, or toward centralization at the expense of distributed leadership or toward Thinking with little regard for Feeling when decisions are made. Leveraging such polarities changes the approach from either/or to “How can we access the best of both positions while avoiding the negatives?” Learn how identifying mutual goals, common fears, and indicators of imbalance lets us leverage the energy of opposites to manage complex issues. |
